The Central Ontario Cheesemaker Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization on August 29, 1928. The Association was founded to provide an opportunity for Cheesemakers to share knowledge and techniques, in a foundling Canadian industry. The Association established the British Empire Cheese Competition, which gave Cheesemakers the opportunity to compete with others around the British Empire and win bragging rights. The Association is managed entirely by volunteers. Elections for Directors and Officers are held annually, and persons interested in joining the Board or volunteering to assist are always welcome. We do not have a “formal” office, but meet frequently in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Wendy Gibbons is the secretary of the Association, and can provide further information as required. Today, we offer over $6,000 in cash as well as trophies and ribbons, to the winners in 26 classes of cheddar, specialty and artisan cheese, as well as salted and unsalted butter. CHECK OUT THE “UPCOMING EVENTS” TAB FOR DETAILS ABOUT THE 2012 GOLF TOURNAMENT! JUST FOR COMING FOR DINNER AND GOLF, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A GARMIN 3790 GPS. |
